In this post we will learn a Vedic Math trick to find the square of a number ending in 5. It is so easy that you can solve it mentally in under 10 seconds.

 SQUARE OF A NUMBER ENDING IN FIVE

First Sutra :   EKADHIKENA PURVENA :  By One More Than Previous

STEPS

Step 1 : Multiply First Number with one number Greater than the first number

Step 2 :  Square the Second Number

EXPLANATION : Find square of  95

Step 1 : Multiply first number with one number greater than the first number

9 x 10 = 90

Step 2 : Square 5

Square of 5 = 25

ANSWER :  9025

EXAMPLES

Square of  25 is =  625      (2x3 and 25)
Square of  45 is =  2025   (4x5 and 25)
Square of  75 is =  5625    (6x7 and 25)

EXERCISE  :  Mentally calculate the square of  25,  65,  85
